Nayana Yoga School

Nayana Yoga is a school founded by Harmony Hannigan in Spain in 2009, offering a systematic path for self-exploration and an opportunity for profound self-discovery.

Inspired by Ancient Wisdom

This journey begins with the body and the senses, inviting stillness into the mind and purification of the organism.

We encourage you to move beyond the tendency to chase after new experiences and instead commit to a lifestyle that enhances awareness, health, and conscious evolution.

This is a path inspired by the teachings of the ancient yogis—techniques passed from master to disciple that have been proven to lead to health, wisdom, and happiness

Conscious Energy Alignment

As our students delve deeper into their physical experience, they become more aware of their energy field, the impact of emotions, and the influence of thought patterns on their relationships and overall experience of life. This spark of curiosity often transforms into a profound urge for change and growth, as they discover the opportunities the yogic path offers.

Along the way, Nayanis also develop a healthy sense of personal responsibility, rooted in the genuine recognition that being alive, here and now, is a precious gift. They come to understand that by vibrating at a higher level, they can serve to inspire and co-create a better world around them.

Our approach integrates bodywork, breathwork, energy work, meditation, philosophical studies, psychological and spiritual inquiry, collaboration, devotion, and the nurturing support of community.

The Nayana Yoga approach to yoga practice differs from many popular contemporary styles. It is an energetic alignment practice, rooted in traditional Tantra philosophy, where the focus is on developing awareness of the energy body. Postures and techniques are used to harness not only internal energy resources but also to channel energy from external fields—ranging from telluric earth energy to cosmic vibrations.

Many of the practices are performed with the eyes closed (except in cases of trauma) to develop inner vision and heightened awareness of the subtle energy field and to shift the focus from how the practice looks to how it feels. This deeply somatic approach cultivates acute proprioception.

In Nayana Yoga, you will encounter many of the classical hatha yoga postures, but with an emphasis on the flow of energy and the chakras. Practices incorporate visualization, mantra, and phases of stillness and observation to cultivate awareness and depth of presence.

Embodied philosophy

Our offerings also extend to meditations, advanced pranayama techniques, dance, voice work, breathwork, massage, artistic expression, yantra, and traditional rites.

In truth, the Tantra yoga philosophy we aim to embody sees every action as an opportunity to recognize the divine presence of life force. In this way, even mundane actions such as cooking and cleaning can become part of our practice when carried out mindfully and with devotion.

We look forward to sharing our unique yoga practice with you.

Our pledge is to accompany you with kindness, patience, and generosity.
